My name is Lehlohonolo “Hlonie” Moloko, a Store Manager working at the Vodacom 4U Shop in Fourways Mall.
In light of the #AxFIT Initiative running throughout the month on July (you can find out more here https://www.axtelco.com/empower), it’s a privilege to act as one of the official #AxFIT Store Ambassadors.
I realise that sometimes it can be hard to start exercising on your own, which is what makes the #AxFIT initiative all the more appealing. This is an opportunity to join in and commit ourselves to hopefully see some good results. It’s also great, as we’ll not only get to have fun while keeping fit and mingling with other determined, dedicated and committed individuals but also giving back to our community members in need.
If I’m being honest, when the lockdown first started, I found exercising to be quite challenging. I then realised that this could be an opportunity for me to tone my body while working from home, as I’ve had more time to do both, during my days. It’s even helped me to manage my time better and create some healthy habits at home, like creating juice out of lemon, which I’ve been enjoying. My go to exercises includes the following: a front plank, trunk rotations and the classic crunch. I prefer upper body rater than lower body exercises. Maybe you’d like to give it a try?
As a dad, firstly, I would like to say that I might be one of the few blessed Dad's. My Kids love to emulate me, and they love competing, so it’s been easy for me rope them in to exercising with me. It’s also inspired me to do more. Sometimes during our board game time, we compete. So, the looser of the game has to choose to dance from the beginning to the end of a song OR they can choose an exercise to do. This has not only brought us closer as a family but has also made us healthier together.
I would like to remind us all that procrastination is the thief of time, there is no time like now to start doing something you've been longing to do and to keep doing, even post lockdown. So join in on the fun!
